Lion City Air Conditioner Services Pte Ltd was founded in 2016 with a simple but unusual goal for the Singapore aircon industry: do the work properly, charge fairly, and tell customers the truth — even when the truth means selling them less.
The Singapore aircon scene at the time was — and largely still is — dominated by companies that pay technicians on commission, push unnecessary chemical washes, and treat each visit as an upsell opportunity. We took the opposite approach. Our 10-step servicing process is documented and standardised. Our pricing is published online. Our techs are paid properly so they don't need to push extras. Nine years later, that approach has built something we're proud of: more than 10,000 served customers, a 5.0-star Google rating across 1,500+ verified reviews, BizSafe Level 3 certification, GST registration, and a 20-strong team of trained technicians serving every corner of the island.
We've been featured in CNA Insider, 8days, AsiaOne, Mothership, STOMP and MustShareNews — usually because someone was surprised that an aircon company in Singapore was actually doing things the right way. Lion City Aircon was founded by Hermes Xhika, who relocated from Albania to Singapore in the early 2010s. After working in the local trade scene and seeing first-hand how Singapore's aircon industry treated its customers, he started Lion City Aircon in 2016 with a different operating model — one built on transparency rather than upsells.
Hermes is also publicly known as the "Ang Mo Aircon Guy" — a nickname that stuck after his TikTok presence (now 53,000+ followers) became one of the most-followed aircon accounts in Singapore. The content is straightforward: real jobs, real techs at work, real customer scenarios — including the things most companies hide.
Beyond aircon, Hermes is a polyglot — he speaks English, Albanian, Turkish, conversational Greek and Italian, and previously Arabic. In a city as multicultural as Singapore, that range has helped Lion City Aircon serve a remarkably diverse customer base.
