What U9 means
On Mitsubishi Electric systems, U9 points to an outdoor unit voltage abnormality: the unit detected over voltage, under voltage, or a power synchronisation problem on its supply. What usually causes U9 in Singapore
Sometimes the fault is upstream of the aircon entirely: a voltage dip or surge on your supply, a failing isolator, or loose wiring connections that have heated and worked free over years. Within the unit, the usual suspects are the outdoor power board and its components. After power interruptions in the block, U9 often appears once and never again, the unit simply witnessed the event.
What you can safely try
The breaker reset, once: off five minutes, restart. If U9 followed a known power interruption and does not return, monitor and move on. If it recurs on stable power, the cause is physical, in the wiring, isolator, or board, and it needs qualified hands.
