Honest aircon gas top-up Singapore service for R22, R32 and R410A systems. We don't quote a flat price online because every job is different — we troubleshoot first ($60, waived if topping up), then quote you the actual amount based on gas type and how much your system needs. Multi-split typical: $80–$200.
The Truth Most Won't Tell You
An aircon system doesn't burn refrigerant the way a car burns petrol. It's a sealed loop — gas circulates, cools your room, and cycles back. If your gas is low, you have a leak. It might be a tiny one that takes two years to matter, or a bigger one that'll need topping up every few months.
That's why every gas top-up job at Lion City Aircon starts with a $60 troubleshooting visit. We confirm it's actually a gas issue (not a dirty coil or faulty thermostat), figure out roughly how big the leak is, then walk you through your two options — top up and see, or pressure test and find the leak.
Signs Your Aircon Might Need Gas
These are the most common signs of refrigerant loss — but they can also be caused by other issues, which is why we troubleshoot first instead of guessing.
Compressor is on, fan is blowing, but the air feels lukewarm. Classic gas pressure issue — but not always.
Frost or ice forming on the pipes outside the unit is a strong indicator of low refrigerant pressure.
Used to cool the room in 10 minutes, now takes an hour. Unit is struggling because there's not enough gas to do the job.
Outdoor unit clicks on and off rapidly instead of running steadily. Often caused by low refrigerant tripping safety sensors.
Severe ice buildup inside the fan coil eventually melts and leaks water. Sign of a long-standing gas issue.
Low-gas units run continuously trying to reach the set temperature. You're paying more to cool less.
Don't assume it's gas — sometimes it's just a dirty coil. WhatsApp us describing the symptoms and we'll tell you what's most likely causing it.
Your Two Options
We always present both options honestly. Most older systems just need a top-up. Some need a real fix.
We connect manifold gauges to your system, identify the gas type, weigh in the correct amount of refrigerant, and run the unit to confirm cooling has been restored.
We dismantle the units, set up pressure gauges on every component, pump in H2 (hydrogen) to ~350 psi, then return 2–3 days later to check if any unit has dropped pressure. That tells us exactly where the leak is.
Most "no cooling" complaints aren't actually gas. We check before charging you for refrigerant you don't need.
Even though phased out globally, we still source R22 for older HDB and condo units. No need to replace the whole system.
Other companies do a one-shot test and call it done. We pressurise and return 2–3 days later — that's how you actually catch slow leaks.
Real company with insurance, refrigerant handling certifications, and proper invoicing. Not a freelancer with a cylinder.
The Lion City Process
No assumptions, no surprise bills. Here's exactly what happens from your first call to a cool aircon.
Tell us what's happening — "aircon not cooling," "ice on the pipes," whatever you're seeing. We'll give you a rough sense of what it could be.
Most customers don't actually know what's wrong — they just know it's not cooling. We come down to find out for sure.
Check the filter, fan coil, electrical, drainage and refrigerant pressure. Nine times out of ten the problem isn't where customers think it is.
If it's a dirty coil, we say so. If it's an electrical fault, we say so. If gas is low — we move to step 5. No hidden findings, no upsell scripts.
(a) Top up and see how long it lasts, or (b) Pressure test to find the leak. We explain both and let you decide. No pressure either way.
Connect manifold gauges, identify your gas type (R22 / R32 / R410A), weigh in the correct amount, run the unit to verify cooling. $60 fee waived.
Dismantle the units, set up gauges on each item, pump in H2 to ~350 psi. We leave the system pressurised and head out.
Re-check every component. If anything dropped in pressure, that's the leak source. We then quote the actual repair separately from the test fee.
Transparent Pricing
Honest pricing for residential multi-split systems. VRV/VRF is quoted separately because the gas volumes are completely different.
On-site diagnosis to confirm the actual problem. Most "no cooling" issues aren't gas.
For System 1–5 residential units. Final price depends on gas type (R22 / R32 / R410A) and amount needed.
Two-visit process. Dismantle, pressurise to 350 psi, return 2–3 days later to check.
| System 1 | $190 |
| System 2 | $250 |
| System 3 | $310 |
| System 4 | $370 |
| System 5 | $430 |
Commercial and large landed VRV/VRF systems use vastly different gas volumes — often full tanks rather than partial top-ups. Pricing is completely separate from residential. WhatsApp us with your system details and we'll quote properly.
Island-Wide Coverage
HDB, condo, landed, commercial. We carry R22, R32 and R410A on every truck. Same-day available in most areas.

"Finally an honest aircon company that does not overcharge. My 7-year-old AC is good as new again. Highly recommended."
